Here we will show you a fun little experiment in which you can practice your newly learned skills with an AI opponent. We choose some of the most popular chatbots available in 2019. Due to the nature and progress of AI development in chatbots in 2019, these robotic conversational partners can either be very intelligent or very stupid, as you will find out soon enough, and depending on how you see it and what your expectations are.
In regards to conducting an intelligence interrogation, first we must assume the target knows something. Given that chatbots often chat with thousands of people on a daily basis, and learn nonstop, we will assume the average chatbot knows more than the average person, but not always the information we’re looking for. Many chatbots have a built in function such as being able to search the news or internet in order to build their database of information, even though overall this capability is somewhat limited in 2019 due to the nature of the chatbot, and extracting this information from them even by politely asking or writing down the correct sentence that it will recognize as an attempt to see a fact that most search engines can find, can be a frustrating experience.
The human interrogator will most likely find themselves in an environment where they have sufficient evidence to believe that their target knows something about why they’re there, and knows many of the answers to their questions, even though they might initially answer. Dealing with difficult, often interrogation tactics aware targets can be a pain in the neck.
Cocky or even rude targets that will provoke you can sometimes be common, and you have to exercise restraint and a cool head.
Which is why these chatbots are perfect. They are cocky and evasive by their programming, because sometimes they don’t know the answer to your question or what it is you’re asking them due to how their algorithms work, and they are naive and unaware that they are being interrogated. Most human subjects tend to be aware of the expectations an interrogator has, and they devise their strategy in evading questioning methods around this, which puts them inside the interrogator’s box, so to speak. But those who can think outside the box….can either be construed as uncooperative, or undoubtedly insane, the reason for their unawareness.
Which is incredibly frustrating.
And therefore the perfect example of how to hone your skills with mental and verbal gymnastics.
A Chatbot is not influenced by cold rooms, food, water and sleep deprivation, being locked up and not being able to leave, threatening looks, insults, psychological and verbal abuse, being ignored by captors, the psychology of the interrogation process and so fourth. It does not get afraid and therefore you cannot build rapport with it, the same rapport based off of the Stockholm syndrome it doesn’t get to experience. It’s not afraid to crack jokes and waste your time, and even insult you and your intelligence, because it does not fear you cracking it’s head over it cracking jokes. Therefore a Chatbot, unconsciously and not by it’s own will, can equate to an experienced officer, familiar with interrogation methods and assuming you are going to follow the Geneva Convention, or by the brainwashed insurgent, who is willing to accept death over handing over information willingly. It only reacts according to it’s programming, which is very mathematical and devoid of emotion or the conceptualization of pain and suffering. It does not get the hints we get as humans, that make us human, that humans tend to exploit.
